Compose Yourself: We Are the World Re-Worked

In case you missed it, Saturday Night Live hilariously poked fun at the remake of We Are the World by depicting singers recording a third version to benefit the failed attempt at number two. Keenan Thompson portrays Quincy Jones and Jennifer Lopez gave a funny impersonation of Rihanna. I'm glad that people in the industry understand as well as us how much of an epic fail the new recording was. T-Pain? Really?

Here is a youtube version with aspiring talents offering their rendition. It is much better than the remake. A shame. Professional recording artists were bested by regular people. Lisa Lavie was at the helm of this effort. I previously posted her covering Beyoncé's Halo. Here she sings Celine's part. I also recognized Blair Perkins, who I posted singing Solange's hit I Decided. This version really seems emotionally driven and it's nice to see the effort put into it versus the contrived effort of the actual stars. Kudos to the youtube community!
