The Daily Tea: The Chosen Ones

"The older I get, the more I realize the importance of friendships/relationships.
Regardless of political affiliations, religious ideals, social situations/awareness, etc...there are precious few things more important than having people that love you, and that you love. To that end, in this life it's profoundly imperative ... See more that you carefully define what you call a "friend" and use that definition to surround yourself with people that you can trust, appreciate, and that will celebrate you...but will also tell you the Truth.
With that in mind, I find that I have fewer and fewer genuine friends and I wouldn't have it any other way. Because it's better to have a few real ones than many fake ones."
-Brian Thomas

A friendship goes beyond nights of drinking and partying. As we get older and people disperse across the country to reside in different cities and grow up and start families, other things become more valuable. Crazy laughs at birthdays, intimate chats, tears shed, hugs, road trips, and simple texts/calls to say "I love you" become more important than waiting in line at the newest hot club. Friendships are not about
how many people we can count on the list but about how many of those we can count on; the people that will go the distance. It's not about agreeing all of the time but it's about understanding each other. As with any relationship, that paves way for understanding of what is needed to make the other feel loved.
